Supporting Human Development Between Birth to Three

Children in India aged 0-3 often lack structured early learning due to low caregiver awareness and a lack of accessible, developmentally appropriate programs. 85% of brain development happens by age six, making early intervention essential for long-term cognitive growth. Nearly 40 million children in India start Grade 1 unable to recognize basic letters or numbers, risking irreversible cognitive and IQ setbacks.
The Birth to three Model aims to deliver targeted content and tailored resources to families about early childhood stimulation for child between 0-3 via WhatsApp groups. The program delivers age-appropriate, play-based learning content aligned with the national curriculum to parents and personalized weekly videos, using interactive prompts and feedback mechanisms to promote behavior change and support the developmental needs of children. Rocket Learning plans to publish the impact and progressively expand the initiative to reach 100,000 households and 8,000-10,000 community centers.
80% of families engaged with the program at least once during the pilot, and 40% engaged every week. 77% of parents were able to list three or more language activities, with a 22% increase in the number of parents who felt confident incorporating these learning activities into their daily routines. Ares’ grant helped achieve significant milestones from developing a preliminary intervention model after collecting robust primary and secondary data to implementing it across diverse geographies and analyzing key learnings from the study.
